FARMERS can learn how to reduce the risk of plant protection products getting into water at a free event held by the Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) and Tees Rivers Trust (TRT) at Parish Crayke, Carlton in Cleveland, TS9 5LB, on Monday, April 20, at 10am.
The event is hosted by Andrew Gloag, 2009 Arable farmer of the year who is working with the Trust and Environment Agency to install a bio bed and rainwater harvesting system.
The event will give updates on the work of the Tees Rivers Trust including the practical installation of a bio-bed, rainwater harvesting for use in the crop sprayer and willow spiling to stabilise river banks. An update will also be provided on greening, cross compliance, Countryside Stewardship and CFE.
