PONY rides, rare breed animals and television’s Mr Bloom from CBeebies are just some of the features included on the packed programme for the 2015 Springtime Live

The fun filled event takes place at the Great Yorkshire Showground on Sunday and is particularly aimed at families with young children.

Held for the first time last year, it promises to be packed with exciting hands-on activities as well as giving an insight into the countryside and rural life.

Bill Cowling, Show Director said: “Springtime Live was hugely popular last year and all the signs are that it will be so again. Ticket sales are going well and we’ve got a good mix of attractions and activities. We hope that these will not only enthuse the youngsters but give them a greater understanding of rural life.”

On the agenda are activities as varied as rope making, mountain biking, bread making and pony rides. There will also be plenty of opportunity to see animals close up with hatching chicks, rare breed cattle, baby lambs to feed and cute piglets all expected to be present.

Some of the UK’s rarest animals can also be seen including a Crollwitzer turkey, Badger Faced Welsh Mountain sheep, a Manx Loaghtan lamb, Irish Moiled cattle and Golden Guernsey goats.

In addition there will be workshops and stands with a wide range of products including food, toys and gifts.
