CATTERICK

Thanks to Lynn and Judith for last week’s informative talk from the Rare Breeds’ Survival Trust. Next week’s meeting is Zumba; meet at Hackforth Village Hall at 7.30pm. Tickets for Catterick’s hypnotist night are selling fast, so order soon from Becky Slinger for £8 on 07946 350742.

ELWICK

Last week’s meeting was a talk and demonstration on leather-making. A massive thank you to Alison Carter for doing this demonstration and also for allowing members to make leather dog collars. This week’s meeting was pancake-making. Members enjoyed making their pancakes followed by eating them. Next week’s meeting is our social evening at the Three Horse Shoes, Running Waters. It will be £5 per head to include food, quiz and a raffle. Any raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated. Ask family and friends to come and let Katie know numbers by today if you are planning on attending. Meet at the Three Horse Shoes from 7pm. GREAT SMEATON

This week’s meeting is cocktail-making and a sloe gin night starting at 7.30pm in the village hall. Don’t forget to take your ingredients and favourite tipples. Could all members ensure they take money for their dinner dance tickets tonight.

INGLEBY CROSS

This week’s meeting was a family and friends quiz at the village hall. Well done to Paddy’s team for winning. Next week’s meeting is a visit to Mole Valley at Piercebridge; meet at the Cross at 6.40pm. Catterick YFC is holding a hypnotist night at Hackforth Village Hall on February 20. Comment on the Ingleby Cross Facebook page if you would like to go, so that Emma can arrange transport. Tickets are £8, including a pie and peas supper.

NORTHALLERTON

Next week’s meeting is the committee meeting at Northallerton auction mart canteen at 7.30pm. Also our dinner dance with The Dales school is tonight at the Golden Lion Hotel, Northallerton, 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £25. Dress code is black tie with a splash of red. REETH

This week’s meeting was a sheep and lamb stock judging practice by permission of the Waggett family. Results were as follows: 1 Kate Hodgson; 2 Kevin Sunter; 3 Marian Porter. A meeting will be organised for a fortnight’s time. Membership is due, so please fill in forms as soon as possible.

SEDGEFIELD

Members and parents enjoyed a race night at Hardwick. Next week’s meeting is a pancake evening, with the venue to be confirmed. Take a pan and some mix. Well done to members who competed at the stock judging day.

STAINDROP

On Monday night, we visited Planet Leisure for laser quest. Next week’s meeting is preparation for the muck chuck at Luke Medd’s at 7.30pm. Take a gripe and any empty feed bags you have.

STOCKTON

On February 8, Stockton attended the County Durham FYFC stock judging day. Everyone was placed. The results were: Natalie Gray, 2 horse and finished lambs; Graeme Mckenzie, 3 horse, and 2 beef; Tom Bainbridge, 3 beef; Caroline Baker, 1 beef, 2 pigs and horse, 3 breeding ewes and finished lambs. Well done to everyone and a thank you to CDFYFC for hosting a great day! On Monday, we had a great games night at the Wilson Centre. On Monday, February 23, it is pancake-making at the Wilson Centre, Long Newton, at 7.45pm. Everyone is welcome, but take your own toppings. The annual quiz is on Saturday, March 28, at The Wilson Centre, Long Newton (note change of venue). Teams can have up to a maximum or eight people. Tickets cost £6.50 per person to include a pie and peas supper. There is a trophy to be won at 7.30pm, with the first round at 8pm.
