CATTERICK. – Last week's meeting was a public-speaking practice at Hackforth Village Hall. A big thank you to Alistair Wilkin and Rhys Barker for giving members valuable advice. Members also had a very informative tour around Allerton Steel at Northallerton. Thanks to them for their hospitality. Next week's meeting is an interclub night with Great Smeaton and Thirsk YFC at the Farmers Arms, Catterick Bridge, at 7.30pm. Could members take money for games and food, which will be provided afterwards. The national AGM entry deadline to Torquay is rapidly approaching. Anyone who would like to go should inform Hannah Hugill or Becky Slinger as soon as possible.

DURHAM. – This week, members enjoyed pig judging with Stockton YFC. Next week, members will be sheep judging at Clarks, Frankland Farm, Durham. Meet at the venue at 7.30pm. This weekend was our annual tractor road run, raising money for the club, and a fantastic day was had by all. There was a fabulous turn out of 62 tractors, old and new. ELWICK. – At this week’s meeting, we were joined by Sedgefield YFC when we had a very interesting talk and demonstration by Trevor Robinson, of Robinson's Butchers, at Wingate. Thanks go to Trevor and to Sedgefield members for attending. Next week’s meeting is rock-climbing at the North-East Climbing Centre at Ferryhill (the cost is £5). Meet at the centre at 7.15pm. STAINDROP. – This week, we held a business and 'giving reasons' meeting on how to judge stock. Next week's meeting is Christmas card decorating at Winston Village Hall, at 7.30pm. Could members ensure they take some Christmas decorations, pencils or felt tips.

STOKESLEY. – This week's meeting was Christmas flower-arranging. Thank you to Judith Pickersgill for teaching everybody. Next Monday's meeting is a pampered chef demonstration at Mole Valley, in Stokesley, at 7pm. This meeting is open to all members, past and present, there will be mulled wine and mince pies and will be the perfect opportunity to purchase some lovely items for your kitchen or Christmas gifts.

WENSLEYDALE. – Our last meeting was held on November 17 at Woodend Farm, by permission of the Willoughby family. We took part in stock judging Blue-faced Leicesters and Mules. Our senior judge was Stephen Thompson. The results were as follows. – Boys: 1 Thomas Reynolds and Ethan Scarr; 2 Andrew Reynolds;

3 Oliver Durham and James Chapman. Girls: 1 Becky Woof; 2 Sophie Oliver; 3 Katie Oliver. We would like to thank the Willoughby family and Stephen Thompson for their help. Our next meeting is on December 2 to watch the pantomime in Hawes; meet at Hawes at 7.15pm.
