CATTERICK. – Last week's meeting was a beetle drive at Hackforth Village Hall. Well done to everyone who took part in a highly competitive game! Next week's meeting is on Wednesday for a talk by Cleveland Potash at 7.15pm at Hackforth Village Hall. Our dinner dance is on Friday, November 7. ELWICK. – This week’s meeting was the club’s 81st AGM. Members were allocated club roles. The AGM saw the re-election of Andrew Thompson as the club president. Club officers are as follows: chairman, Lucy Appleton; secretary, Katie Sanderson; treasurer, Emma Sanderson; programme secretary, Emma Sanderson. A thank you to all retiring officers for all you have done over the past year to help the club and also good luck to all members taking up new roles. Thank you to all vice-presidents, advisory committee and past members and also to Claire Raw (club support officer) who joined us at the AGM. The club is happy to announce that they will be hosting a November bash at Castle Eden Village hall on November 15. GREAT SMEATON. – Tonight's meeting is to be held at Mr and Mrs P Langthorne's, Brompton. Could members meet there at 7.30pm. All members should wear clean clothes and footwear. Members are asked to take a clean white coat with them, if they own one. If you are unable to attend, please send your apologies.

NORTHALLERTON. – Last Monday's meeting was race night. Thanks to everyone who took part. Next week's meeting is a committee meeting at 7.30pm in the mart. Remember to give your subs and photo to Phil, as quickly as possible.

SEDGEFIELD. – Members this week met for a stock judging competition. Members enjoyed judging the four butcher's beef, ready to judge them again on Thursday as carcase. Next week's meeting is the pre-AGM at Hardwick Hall Hotel at 7.30pm. Members are asked to think about whether they would like to take on a role. Samantha also has raffle tickets for sale for the winter coffee morning, which is taking place on November 15 at Hett Village Hall, from 10am-2pm. STAINDROP. – The last two meetings have been busy for our club. Firstly, club games followed by Torie teaching members a street dance and some Salsa, which went down well. This week, Debbie Brown gave us an informative talk on animal nutrition, which was enjoyed by all. Thanks again to Debbie. On Monday, it is our club AGM at 7.30pm at Winston Village Hall. All past, present and future members, along with supporters and parents, are welcome to celebrate our recent successes and plan 2014-15!

STOCKTON. – Our next meeting will be on Monday, when we will be having a sports night in preparation for County Sports Day on Sunday, October 19. The sports are Kwik Cricket for juniors and Dodgeball for intermediates and seniors. There will also be cross country running. Our meeting will be held at 7.30pm at The Grange, Long Newton, TS21 1BN, by permission of the Wade family. We will be in the indoor arena so wear appropriate footwear. There has been change to the programme in October and November. The meetings will now be as follows: October 20, rally competitions and speaking practice; October 27, annual meeting; November 17, stock judging practice. WEARDALE. – Our next meeting will be our AGM on Tuesday at Eastgate Village Hall at 7.30pm.

WENSLEYDALE. – Our AGM was held on October 6 at Carperby. It was well attended by members and our advisory committee. Mr Sledge and Mrs Dixon agreed to be our president and vice-president again. Thomas Reynolds has taken over from Jack Iveson as chairman and Sophie Oliver has taken on the role of secretary from Jasmine Iveson. Carolyn Cloughton agreed to continue as treasurer. We would like to thank all the members who have taken on roles, and all advisory, parents and club leaders who continue to support us, without which the club would struggle to continue. We had a good day on October 4, providing refreshments at the Hopper Sale in Hawes, when we raised £500 for club funds. We have donated £250 to our 2013-14 club charity, St Teressa's Hospice. Congratulations to Shannon MacIntyre who has been representing Yorkshire at the national rally in Malvern for floral art. Shannon is only 13 and most of the other competitors were much older. She did really well and I'm sure she will learn from this experience and do us proud again next year. Our next meeting will be on Monday, October 20, and will be pumpkin-carving, so take your own pumpkin; venue is to be announced.
