THE organisers of UK Grain have cancelled this year's event due to the easier than expected harvest for most producers and the low grain prices.
It was due to be held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, on November 5, but the specialist grain handling, drying, storage and market event has been re-scheduled for autumn/winter 2015.
“We pride ourselves on delivering the right event, to the right audience, at the right time, and this autumn is clearly not the right time for UK Grain to run,” said Andrew Newbold from organiser FarmSmart Events. “Most producers had a very straightforward harvest, with low drying requirements, and this, combined with the low grain price, has significantly reduced the demand for such an event this year."
The Sedbergh-based company is now concentrating on organising the Precision Farming Event 2015 at Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Societies showground, Newark, on Wednesday, March 4.
