THE audience of pulse growers heard a series of briefings at the demonstration day.
The briefings gave timely pre-harvest updates on topics including the market for pulses, current varieties for pulses and vining peas, BruchidCast, disease, herbicide and other research projects.
Visitors were shown round the plots by the PGRO technical team – along with invited specialists – to see demonstration areas featuring variety, herbicide and fungicide plots as well as an insect trap demonstration, a perennial field margin briefing and one on critical phosphates in peas.
Demonstrations also took place featuring Glenside, Tilso, De Sangosse, Dodman, and the John Innes Centre.
