A RURAL farm and property agency has launched a CAP Calculator to help farmers assess whether they will meet proposed greening measures.
From January 1, 2015, 30 per cent of the new basic payment scheme income will be linked to meeting new requirements which involve crop diversification and ecological focus areas.
Smiths Gore say those with autumn cropping will need to check the rotation this summer and has come up with the interactive CAP Calculator, free to download at smithsgore.
co.uk/CAP.
Farmers can enter their current cropping details to see if it is compliant. The calculator also allows them to enter simulated scenarios to see what effects greening will have.
Users can also see the effect of ELS agreements.
