BRIAN and Lisa Hall of Gargrave, Skipton, had a splendid day at Gisburn Auction Mart’s dairy show and sale, sponsored by Dugdale Nutrition. Taking both the first and second prize rosettes in the dairy show, their heifers sold for £2,480 and £2,420 to David Coulthurst, Goosnargh, Preston. Andrew Slack, Carlisle, picked up a smart heifer from WA & A Booth, Feizor, Austwick at £2320. For the first time the average was more than £2,000 (£2,019) for all 23 newly-calved heifers on offer. Auctioneers were Richard Turner & Son.
