THE County Durham Federation of Young Farmer Clubs hosted the annual northern area of Young Farmers’ Competitions weekend at Fyndoune Community College, Sacriston, County Durham.
The event was the northern final for a range of competitions such as drama, ballroom dancing, public speaking, member of the year, football, dodgeball, rounders and ultimate frisbee.
The County Durham organising committee worked hard to ensure the event ran smoothly over two days and it expressed thanks to the many judges, referees, stewards and scorers that played a vital role – and the venue.
Joint northern area weekend chairman Caroline Baker said: “I was thrilled to have been involved in such a successful and enjoyable weekend, we had a superb team of people and fantastic competitors.”
County Durham Young Farmers hosted a dance on the Saturday evening.
After two days of competition, the overall winners of the event were Cumbria A, followed closely by Cumbria B and then Yorkshire A.
Winners will represent the northern area at the finals.
