Deadline near for crops payments

NATURAL England has warnedfarmers thattheyneed to get any application for new agreements under the Energy Crops Scheme (ECS) submitted by Saturday, August 31.
Applications must be in by then for new agreements to start by the end of December.
The ECS supports the plantingofmiscanthusandshort rotation coppice in appropriate locations. Payments cover 50 per cent of the crop establishment costs.
