A NEW Sam Turner store in Leyburn has been welcomed as “the best thing to happen in the town for years”.

And to celebrate the opening, £100 of vouchers are up for grabs in a prize draw for customers who make a purchase in the new store in February.

For more than 40 years, Sam Turner has traded on just one day a week from its store behind the Golden Lion in Leyburn.

But the popular company is delighted to announce the opening of a new store on Leyburn Business Park, between the NFU and Wensleydale galleries.

The new store is now open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 8am-12, led by Team Manager Dave Nelson, familiar face Jake Ward and newcomer Julia Taylor.

Dave Nelson told Country Life: “Over our first week of trading we have been overwhelmed with positive and welcoming comments from new and old customers.

“They have been both thrilled and surprised by the range of products we stock in Little Sammies, receiving comments like ‘this is the best thing to happen to Leyburn in years’ or simply ‘Wow!’ As a team we are very pleased and proud of our new store.”

Although the new store is small, it will still stock a wide range of products, including farm and garden requisites, dairy chemicals, water fittings, hand and garden tools, Stihl garden machinery, ironmongery, screws and fixings and much more.

As there is no yard space, items such as fencing, gates, feed equipment and drainage pipes will only be available to order, but Sam Turner offer a ‘next day’ service wherever possible with a delivery up to Leyburn most days from the Northallerton store.

This is a really exciting step for the company as it looks forward to offering customers, new and old, a much improved service in the Leyburn area.

The team at Leyburn are all looking forward to welcoming everyone to the new store and doing their best to assist.
