The Government has announced that work to upgrade the A1 between Dishforth and Barton to a three-lane motorway has been put back at least six months.
Construction of the new motorway, delayed now for almost 25 years, was due to start in the spring but an announcement about the scheme and when it might start will not be made until the autumn.
Should the work start as promised in the spring or is the Government right to delay? What's your view?
