Bostock and Wombwell's visit
to Richmond. This famous show is
to visit Richmond on Friday next.
The name of Bostock and Wombwell
is of itself a sufficient guarantee
of an excellent entertainment. It is
claimed for this menagerie that it is
"the largest travelling zoo on earth".
It is a veritable Noah's Ark on wheels.
There are countless wild animals of
interesting species, some of the
finest lions in Europe, tigers, bears,
waggon-loads of monkeys.

the newly formed Yorkshire Countrywomen's

WI. The result was 27 to four to

Thursday Mrs Hutchinson said: "I
had a letter yesterday from the WI
saying we can't finish just like that, it
seems we have to have a VCO present
when the vote is taken.
From this newspaper 10 years
ago. - A traditional church service
which celebrates the blooming of
hundreds of golden daffodils has
been moved forward because of the
early spring. Churchgoers of all denominations
have packed St Mary's
in Farndale, on the North York
Moors, for many years to celebrate
the annual explosion of blooms. But
this year the valley has become carpeted
with the flowers much earlier
than usual.
