Proud to serve
2:14pm Friday 9th May 2008
Sir, - As one of the so called "rats fighting in a sack" (D&S web comment May 2) from someone called Alan who lacks the courage and moral fibre to sign his full name, I find it very sad that he has to descend to gutter level comments like this to make a point.

Relevant speed

Poor comparison
2:10pm Friday 9th May 2008
Sir, - I read it's a much deserved well done to Ingleby Barwick Town Council, Stockton Borough Council and Ingleby ward councillors, who working together have sourced a financial package of over £400,000 for the creation of "Romano Park". An opportunity to give the people there something of real permanent benefit.

Protect special site

Sir, - At Castle Hills in Northallerton, a green field site with a hilltop scheduled ancient monument, the developer Taylor Wimpey has applied for outline planning permission to build houses right up to the hilltop fort position.
