Broadcast thanks
Sir, - I would like to thank
everyone who attended Radio
Teesdale's first birthday party at
the Jersey Farm.
All agreed it
was a fantastic night and an excellent
opportunity to reward
both our hard-working volunteers
and our loyal listeners.
The last few months have
seen the radio station go from
strength to strength with the
launch of our second transmitter,
and shortly we will be
streaming live on the internet,
allowing even greater access.
We could not have achieved
any of this without funding
from a number of bodies. Radio
Teesdale is entirely self-funded,
has only one paid member of
the team, and relies on donations
from the business community
and other organisations
for its continued existence.
We owe a big debt of thanks
therefore to organisations who
have awarded us grants and
funding, such as Teesdale District
Council, whose councillors
recognised the importance of
Radio Teesdale's expansion
plans with a grant of £15,000.
We are also extremely grateful
for the support of OFCOM, The
Good Fund, Defra, Award for All
and Leader Plus. They have
contributed greatly towards the
successful launch of a community
radio station in Teesdale.
We would also like to offer
our thanks to Will Roberts and
Jim McTaggart of the Darlington
& Stockton Times and The
Northern Echo for their support
over the last year, which has
been invaluable.
For further information on
our events and schedule, check
out our website on www.radioteesdale.
co.uk or call us 01833-
696750. Volunteers, programme
ideas and feedback are always
welcome.
