Sir, – Thank you for publishing the correction to confirm the success of the Masham Parish Council Leader application for funding for the resurfacing of the skate park. The parish council would also like to correct the second part of the April 19 article, in which it was stated that “due to the uncertainties regarding the drainage works in this area of the park, it was agreed that no action would be taken”.

Sir, – The horsemeat scandal benefits UK farmers (D&S, April 26). What a pity that it takes an unpopular decision to go for cheap imports that put profit before people to realise that our quality home-produced meats are second-to-none and should have long since been given priority, rather than see quality butchers all over the country being vastly reduced in numbers.
