Our priorities

Sir, – I thought your front page last Friday (D&S Cleveland edition July 20) said it all.
At the top, Her Majesty the Queen opening Stockton’s White Water Course, a world-class facility that the council’s planning and investment helped to create; a fantastic day that showed the borough in the best possible light to residents, visitors and organsiations that might want to invest here.
Then at the bottom the former Conservative leader of the council wanting us to waste time and money on an internal reorganisation which would be as likely to increase the number of councillors as reduce them.
At a time when resources for frontline services and facilities have never been so scarce, I think people will draw their own conclusions about who has the right priorities.
