Sir, – I am writing to comment on a letter regarding the Bilsdale Hunt’s support of Stockton South Tory candidate James Wharton (D&S, Feb 26) and the language used by the hunt to describe areas of Stockton South.

I live in Grangefield and wish to ask whether I live in the “darker areas of Stockton” by the hunt’s definition? Where are the “darker areas of Stockton”?

Are the Tories campaigning there?

The Tory candidate is prohunting and it seems his campaign allies have views that are divisive and of another era, judging people on where they are from.

So much for compassionate Conservatism.
