Sir, - As one of the so called "rats fighting in a sack" (D&S web comment May 2) from someone called Alan who lacks the courage and moral fibre to sign his full name, I find it very sad that he has to descend to gutter level comments like this to make a point.
At the moment the whole issue is heading to a tribunal and Alan, who made that disgusting comment, should know that in view of this, to avoid prejudice to both Richmond Town Council and the plaintiff the matter is sub judice, all will be revealed when the matter is resolved.
He also needs to know that if all the councillors resigned, and incidentally, we are all unpaid volunteers on this council, Richmond would not have a town council.
The local Conservative group of which I am one is unable to find two candidates to stand for the election to fill the vacancies created by the wholly unnecessary resignations of Messrs Parsons and Curran.
Comments made about "rats in sacks" by faceless cowards cloaked in anonymity are not at all helpful, and I am surprised that they were published.
Coun OLIVER BLEASE (a councillor and proud of it) Richmond.
