SO Theresa May has copied Ed Milliband and said that she will cap energy prices and save the average consumer £100 a year. Big deal!
That £2 a week is dwarfed by the £5 a week that George Osborne took off us when he increased VAT to 20 per cent in 2010. When you factor in benefit cuts and the one per cent cap on public sector pay, it is no wonder nurses are using food banks in record numbers.
And remember, one of the first things he did was to reduce the rate of tax for high earners.
Given the Tory track record of taking from the poor to give to the rich, it beggars belief that St. Theresa looks like she’s going to win in June.
People really do have short memories.
