I WAS interested in your recent report concerning the proposed link road, connecting the two northern routes into Northallerton (D&S Times, Apr 7).
Presumably much of this combined southbound traffic will now converge at the small congested roundabout at Low Gates. Some traffic will turn west to the A1 and Dales to avoid the rail crossing and town centre.
This increased traffic flow will have to negotiate a small inadequate road junction at Yafforth village followed by an equally hazardous junction with the A684 at Warlaby crossroads.
The junction at Yafforth needs to be opened up and widened and the busy junction with the A684 would benefit from a roundabout or traffic lights to improve safer access.
