MY wife is always saying that whenever typing anything into the computer it is best to be vigilant because the machine always thinks it knows best.

I did write a letter to The Northern Echo to say how much I appreciated the description of the man who caused the serious A59 road crash.

He was called “a wreckless driver” (March 22). I see the computer has underlined the word in red, so it must recognize non-words.

It doesn’t like the word recognize spelled/spelt with an s. So Americanization is another problem – and it likes that with a z as well!
