I, LIKE very many other Yorkshire Bank customers, was outraged to receive a letter from the bank, having already heard the announcement on the news, stating simply “sorry, your branch at Richmond is closing on April 20”.
I would like to urge other Yorkshire Bank customers with a branch in Richmond to write, as I have done, to express their displeasure to: Gavin Opperman, Customer Banking Director, Yorkshire Bank, 20 Merrion Way, Leeds, LS2 8NZ. I copied my letter to our MP, Rishi Sunak.
I received a phone call in response from a gentleman in Glasgow (!) stating that an “impact assessment” had been carried out and that the branch has below average transactions and needs significant investment (he couldn’t quantify this).
No consideration was given to the impact of this decision on the customers in Richmond.
Once again, our community is being penalised for being in a rural location.
