HAVING recently seen I, Daniel Blake – an excellent film which showed how people on low income often struggle and can’t afford everyday essentials – I realised that I hadn’t spotted the collection box for the food sharing scheme at our newly refurbished Co-operative store in Leyburn.
When I asked about it I did not get a satisfactory answer.
I trust the box will reappear before too long and be positioned near the exit as before where it cannot be ignored. I hope it will not be tucked away at the back somewhere.
After all, winter is the time of year when we need hot food to keep us going in the cold weather.
