REGARDING the possible banning of grouse shooting which now seems to be on the agenda.

Such a ban would see the virtual extinction of the red grouse, as it relies on the shooting fraternity’s game keepers for its ultimate survival.

Methodical winter burning of heather is essential for chicks to survive on the new shoots in Spring. It is quite simple, no grouse shooting then no grouse.

So, all you anti-bloodsport city dwellers and countryside ‘luvvy do-gooders’, please mind your own business.

It is your interfering ignorance that creates irreversible damage to the countryside ways and, ultimately, the countryside economy – what next... fishing?
