YOUR correspondent, Robin Brooks of Barningham, ought to get his facts straight before condemning former Ukip leader Nigel Farage (D&S, Jul 15).

The claim of £350m to be spent on the NHS was on the official Leave campaign bus, and was not a claim made by Ukip. The claim was not that £350m would be spent on the NHS, but that it could be, which is true.

Mr Brooks makes a loftily disdainful reference to the “Breaking Point” poster about immigration, but it showed a photograph of the stream of more than a million migrants making their way to Europe by invitation of Angela Merkel, an invitation which has had catastrophic consequences for the lives of many Germans.

In a few years’ time, if we are still subject to freedom of movement, these migrants will be eligible to have EU passports and so the right to come here.

Barningham is a very nice village with many large houses. No doubt Mr Brooks will welcome the arrival of thousands of fit, young men, of North African origin, who decide to come and settle there.
