I TOTALLY agree with the letter by Jennifer Jarvis (D&S, December 4) regarding Malcolm Warne’s review of Rockliffe Hall. My wife and I had a similar experience some time ago. We passed our observations to the waiter who half heartedly advised, he would relay our dissatisfaction to the kitchen. Following our visit we sent a letter to which were not even afforded the courtesy of a reply or acknowledgement.

Mr Warne seems to have an agenda to promote Rockliffe Hall regardless. He reviewed the main restaurant, The Orangery, shortly after it opened giving it ten out of ten on most counts, yet at the time The Good Food Guide with 65 years experience gave it four. I might add it has not even been included in the 2016 Good Food Guide.

Also when it first opened Mr Warne spouted about the fact that the hall would not be long in gaining a Michelin Star. I think he is going to have to wait a long time before that happens.
