IT is indeed true, as Councillor Stuart Parsons states, that we are becoming increasingly frustrated at the constant chaos in Richmond Market Place as the cobbles are replaced – again (D&S Times, Oct 2 & 9).
Two thoughts come to mind:
1. Is the council being sold duff mortar as the cobbles don't seem to set well.
2. There's a piece in the Bible which echoes Cllr Parsons’ comment about having the required materials ready. In St Luke's Gospel chapter14, we read: “The builder...sits down and works out if he has enough to finish the job...if he is not able to finish...people will laugh at him, saying 'This man began to build and cannot finish the job'.”
It was true 2,000 years ago...and it is still true today.
