I READ with interest Rishi Sunak’s justification for the Government’s proposed changes to the law on strikes (D&S Times, Sept 18).
He said that “by requiring that at least 50 per cent of those eligible to take part...in a ballot the Bill ensures...a strong and current mandate...”
It is worth noting that Mr Sunak was elected by 33.26 per cent of those eligible to vote – well below the 50 per cent he believes to be necessary for a “strong and current mandate”!
