IT IS good to see that Rishi Sunak’s newly-found farming expertise is proving useful; his new column was liberally sprinkled with bullsh*t (D&S Times, Sept 18). Lots of words about the ridiculously low prices paid for milk, very vague on a plan which won’t interfere with the vital free market.

I particularly love the fact that tearing down workers’ rights will “help” those workers. People only do strike as a last resort in the full knowledge that the loss of wages and pension contributions will hit them hard.

Mr Sunak is part of the regime that will willingly see workers’ rights reduced to the zero hours contracts that are destroying so many.

I look forward to more tremendous spinning in his column; maybe the disabled next week? The fact that they have had nine times more cuts imposed on them than what Iain Duncan Smith calls “normal” people? That’s a political and ideological choice; but maybe that’s for their own good too – maybe it will “help” them to become less wheelchair bound, have fewer learning disabilities or become less terminally ill?

I’m keenly anticipating more inventive justifications of these cruel Tory policies. Thank you, D&S, for providing such a fun new read!
