TWO weeks on, and the positive comments keep on flowing for this year’s Northallerton Homegrown Food Festival.
So they should – it was a fantastic day with plenty to enjoy for all the family, as we read on the letters page last week.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the band of enthusiastic volunteers who made the day so enjoyable. They gave up their time to welcome the stall holders, wash up for chefs in the food theatre, encourage young people in the kids’ kitchen, provide information and help to all the visitors.
One of the special features of the festival is the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and our volunteers are a very large part of this. No need to name individuals as everyone played their part but I would like to mention Applegarth School, Northallerton and District VSA and Northallerton Rotary who provided so much support, not just this year but every year.
Finally, in the tradition of the festival – hugs all round and THANK-YOU.
Sally Anderson, Chair of the Homegrown Food Festival, Northallerton.
