FURTHER to the response from Sheila Simms, of Leyburn (D&S Times, July 3), the silence from the rest of the cycling world is of no surprise.
Ms Simms invites me to join in with Leyburn Cycling one Thursday if I am "still on two wheels". I certainly am, but while thanking her for her kind offer, I am a non-club cyclist, who uses cyclepaths where possible, considers traffic, who does not, and never has, worn lycra.
