IT was my brother and I who left the cross of red carnations mentioned in Jean Kitching’s letter (D&S Times, July 19) about the sheep in Well churchyard, near Bedale.
They were from my mum’s funeral. We wanted to place the wreath on her grandparents’ grave as they are buried in Well churchyard. We were very disappointed not to be able to do so, but the flowers wouldn't have lasted five minutes with the sheep in there.
There must be better ways to control the grass.
Anne Jaques-Morgan, Catterick Garrison.
