I AM partially sighted and diabetic. I live in Leyburn where, as in many other towns, there are street bollards erected presumably to prevent inappropriate parking. These bollards are, in most cases, painted black and a danger to people like myself who do not see very well. Indeed, there have been occasions when I have walked into such a bollard and stumbled. I know I am not the only person to do so.
I drew this situation to the attention of a local councillor who caused red tape to be wrapped round the top of some of the bollards. A bright yellow or white tape would have been more appropriate. I know similar situations are apparent in other local towns and would merit attention.
