THE footpath from Ingramgate Bridge past the Bridge Garage in Thirsk is blocked off with notices claiming that there is no Right of Way.

This path has been established for well over a hundred years and is used daily by hundreds of people.

Apparently the developer and North Yorkshire County Council are involved, but I believe the intention is that the closure will be prolonged.

The developer should be obliged to provide safe access to the public throughout the development process. If this is regarded as too difficult, then the plans should not have been approved and should be amended.

It shows a complete disregard for the rights of local residents. We already have enough problems with control of developers in the town.
