Sir, – If members of the voting public were asked what they least liked about the recent election activities, scurrilous point scoring may well top the list.
The Tory leaflets trying to undermine the workings of a local independent authority will for years be associated with the arrival of the new Member of Parliament.
Should Richmondshire be bracing itself for a political onslaught to sell off the remaining council house stock? Another top dislike was the money, money money refrain.
May I thank the electorate's renewal of confidence in me.
Councillor TONY PELTON
Independent, Richmondshire District Council.
Catterick Village.
