Sir, – My husband and I watched the VE Day celebrations which were very enjoyable – except for one thing.
My husband (who is ex-RAF) was so disappointed that the Lancaster bomber was not in the flypast. We have been told the Lancaster bomber was omitted as it was the anniversary of Dresden being bombed.
Was this the work of a so-called "Do Gooder" who must know how badly London, Coventry and many more cities and towns etc were bombed.
We are both in our mid-eighties so we both experienced of World War Two. Even if we were both young we were old enough to understand what was going on.
