Sir, – I would like to draw readers' attention to the difficulty that still exists on Britain's rail network following on from the recent news programme on the difficulties Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson had in gaining access to Eaglescliffe rail platform.

I booked passenger assistance from Northallerton to Edinburgh return. I was required to give the booking and seat numbers from my four tickets. I pointed out to the passenger assist service that the reason for my booking is due to being partially sighted.

In offering options like this, disabilities are often overlooked which re-enforces the disability – and the discrimination.
