Sir, – Reading how our soldiers are suffering dreadful side effects after having taken the anti-malaria tablet Lariam (D&S letters, April 10) surprised me.
Being in India during the last war we took two salt tablets daily and an anti-malaria tablet called mepacrim. It seemed to work wonders and I don't ever remember anyone suffering any side effects.
