Sir, – Nicholas Rhea's articles each week in the D&S are interesting and informative, especially about Yorkshire customs. But in the Good Friday edition he again wrote incorrectly about Christian churches. He said at Easter, people attend church services of various faiths. They do not. They attend services of the Christian faith in a variety of different denominations, Anglican, Catholic, Methodist etc. Other faiths are Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.

He also referred to the wonderful wall paintings in Pickering church being discovered by the then vicar in 1851, as a defender of the new faith. Anglicanism is not a new faith, but part of the historic Christian faith of England, Catholic and Reformed.
