Sir, - I heard recently on a local radio station an interesting question: if one law could be enforced to make North Yorkshire a better place, what would that be?
Simple: ban all tractors and diggers from all roads between the hours of 7.30am and 9am and 4pm and 6.30pm when the true economy workforce of this region is trying to get to work.
It’s as if farmers deliberately wait till traffic is at its busiest to slope out with their irritating amber beacons to create one mile tailbacks, to then weasel off and pretend to do some ploughing or something.
Are farms now spread over five miles? Stop cluttering our roads now.
