Sir, – Green Party Parliamentary candidate Leslie Rowe may not like the idea of the Scotch Corner Retail Park (D&S, Feb 13), consigning it to the status of a white elephant.
However, competition we are repeatedly told is healthy economics.
It may be worth noting that both this scheme and the proposed all-weather racing track proposal at Catterick Racecourse would bring with them more public transport, while North Yorkshire County Council is posed again to reduced bus services.
Good public transport is, of course, a key element of green living.
