Sir, – on a recent Saturday, I was invited by the members of the Georgian Youth Theatre in Richmond to attend their workshops based on the Holocaust and as a testimonial to Holocaust Memorial Day.

I witnessed some very touching and moving performances which clearly showed that they had fully understood the potentially horrific consequences of intolerance. The short dramatic episodes they presented built upon their own experiences of bullying and harassment and clearly demonstrated just how easy it could be for everyday situations to quickly descend into the unacceptable.

We should be very, very proud of their work. Next year the Georgian Youth Theatre is hoping that they can meet with a survivor of the Holocaust and present a joint evening with them in the theatre. I do hope that they can achieve this as it would be a remarkable achievement and a sobering and thought provoking evening.

I wish to thank the members and tutors of the Georgian Youth Theatre for sharing their work with me. They are a very talented and intelligent group of brilliant young people.
