Sir, – One of the points made (D&S letters, Feb 6) by Tim Jopling (the owner of Mill Riggs), was that only 20 people attended the meeting to launch the Stokesley Town Neighbourhood Plan.
He suggested that it was indicative of a lack of interest in the project when it was more indicative of the fact that Mr Jopling has not grasped the process underway nor how the plan must work.
There have been extremely well attended meetings leading up to this one and now the refining begins by drawing together a group of dedicated people to take it forward. Those attending the meeting had indicated an interest in being part of that group and were there to find out more detailed information.
I found the tone adopted by Mr Jopling to be condescending – no matter where my sympathies lie – and would apply a well used and usually true quote – "He would say that wouldn't he".
(Mrs) C A LEWIS
Stokesley.
