Sir, – It was with dismay that I read of the indefensible admissions policy at Northallerton's Club Amadeus (Club in race row as Fijians turned away, D&S Jan 16).
I wonder which other entire sectors of society nightclub owner George Crow might choose to exclude because of the historical offences of individuals: footballers, teachers, taxi drivers, doctors, politicians, priests, school caretakers, police officers?
Many readers will know and trust individuals from these groups. Some of us may even find that we belong to one of them. Discrimination affects us all, and should be challenged wherever it occurs. We should support our local Fijians on this occasion.
