Sir, – I was fascinated by Mr Rafferty's plan, put to Catterick Parish Council (D&S, January 9), to set up a newspaper to serve the village which would include information from all the local organisations and maybe even the minutes of the council itself. I wonder why nobody has thought of this before? Oh – just a minute. I think somebody did, in 1847. I even contribute to it myself from time to time.
