Sir, – Today, thanks to Richmond Duck Club, the Christmas lights will be switched on in the Friary Gardens. Richmond Town Council has arranged for children’s fair rides in the market place and mulled wine and mince pies will be served at the Market Hall. The Christmas tree is back in place, by the fabulous reopened Green Howards Museum, thanks to Richmond Rotary and the Christmas business window judging takes place at 4.30pm. Why not come into town early to soak up the atmosphere?
May I remind readers it is National Small Business day on Saturday, December 6 so please remember to support your local small businesses and shop local. The district council is allowing free parking in Richmond on Saturdays before Christmas. Richmond businesses look forward to serving you this Christmas.

Chair, Richmond and Lower Swaledale Business Association.
