Sir, – On October 18 members of the public met in Richmond School hall to listen to a concert organised by Coun Bob White and Moira, his wife. It was held in aid of the British Legion. A packed hall listened to Reeth Brass Band led by Brian Hicks, their bandmaster, Daphne Clarke and her grandson Will reading one of Daphne's lovely moving poems she writes, Brompton on Swale ladies choir, all beautifully dressed and such lovely voices, a pleasure to listen to. Richmond School choir and last but by no means least, a group of young children from Richmond Methodist School, all taking part for such a worthy cause.
I hope I haven't missed anyone out but if I have I do apologise.
All of those taking part gave a lot of pleasure to us all. The young people from each school must have been tired by the end of the evening but that did not deter them from giving their all.
It was a smashing, really good night and congratulations must go to Bob and Moira and to each person taking part.
MARGARET EMMERSON
Richmond.
