Sir, – I would like to applaud Stockton Borough Council on the funding for new leisure projects in our area. A swimming pool for Ingleby Barwick will be the envy of all on our side of the Tees, as it's something Eaglescliffe and Yarm have wanted for many, many years but were always knocked back due to being within a four-mile radius of Splash!
Improvements to Yarm Library are also proposed ... excellent.
Improved parking at Preston Park ... not before time.
However, a £35,000 feasibility study to examine the potential for a wooden footbridge over the Tees – are they mad? There is a more than adequate pedestrian/cycle way already in place which is well used.
Perhaps the money would be better spent on safety/security of the very popular skateboard park.
